Maruti S-Cross to borrow features from Ciaz 2018

After launching the 2018 Ciaz facelift in India recently, it seems like Maruti is planning to introduce some of its features on the S-Cross as well. With the update, Maruti has introduced a bunch of new features on the sedan including safety tech like speed alert system and seatbelt reminder for driver and co-passenger. The carmaker has also made the rear parking sensors standard on the new sedan, which was not available in the base Sigma variant earlier.

As per our sources, now the S-Cross will also be updated with a speed alert system, seatbelt reminder for driver and co-passenger and rear parking sensors as standard. It will also get the new 4.2-inch colour MID screen like the one is the new petrol Ciaz.

Currently, the S-Cross neither gets a speed alert system nor a seatbelt reminder for co-passenger in any of the variants, while the parking sensors are absent in the base Sigma variant. It also gets a black & white MID instead of the 4.2-inch colour unit.

Our sources also reveal that Maruti will update the feature list of some variants of the S-Cross. While the base-spec Sigma will get wheel covers and parking sensors only, the Delta variant is the one that will receive a thorough update. It will soon get machine finished 16-inch alloys, smart key with push-button start/stop, auto AC, electrically foldable ORVMs with turn indicators, cruise control and rear screen washer and wiper with defogger. The top-spec Zeta and Alpha variants will remain unchanged.

Maruti has not confirmed the feature update officially yet, but we expect the updated S-Cross to launch soon. As far as the pricing is concerned, it is expected to remain unchanged for the Sigma. But considering the number of new features introduced in the Delta variant, it might get a price hike. If that happens, Maruti would also increase the price of the Zeta variant in order to make space for the updated Delta variant. The carmaker can easily do so without affecting the price of the Alpha variant as there is already a price difference of Rs 1.34 lakh between the Zeta and the Alpha.

Here’s the current price list of the Maruti S-Cross.

Variant

Price (ex-showroom Delhi)

Sigma

Rs 8.62 lakh

Delta

Rs 9.43 lakh

Zeta

Rs 9.99 lakh

Alpha

Rs 11.33 lakh
