World War 3 FEARS increase as Israel claims Iran has secret NUCLEAR WEAPONS facility

Benjamin Netanyahu

Mr Netanyahu made the provocative claim during an address to the UN General Assembly on Thursday.

He said: “Today I am disclosing for the first time that Iran has another secret facility in Tehran.

“A secret atomic warehouse for storing massive amounts of equipment and material for Iran’s secret nuclear weapons program.”

The Israeli claimed the base is a few kilometres away from a publicly identified Iranian nuclear site.

They say it could have held up to 300 tonnes of nuclear-related materials.

Mr Netanyahu said “just last month they removed 15 kilograms of radioactive materials” from the site.

In a stark warning he added: “Israel will do whatever it must do to defend against Iran’s aggression.”

The Israelis are calling on the International Atomic Energy Agency, which monitors nuclear activity, to investigate the site.

Mr Netanyahu also used his UN appearance to attack European countries for “appeasing Iran”.

He asked: “Have these European leaders learned nothing from history?

“Will they ever wake up?”

Whilst Trump withdrew the US from the Iran nuclear deal in May European nations, including the UK, remain committed to it.

The Iran nuclear deal, agreed under President Obama in October 2015, was designed to prevent Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons in return for sanctions relief.

However Trump claimed Iran had violated the spirit of the deal by continuing to work on ballistic missiles and backing terror groups across the Middle East.

The remaining members of the deal, which include China and Russia, are reported to be planning a new payment system to maintain business with Iran and dodge US sanctions.

Mr Netanyahu also delivered a sharp warning to Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which is closely linked to Iran.

He claimed the group is developing missile installations, some near civilian areas which would act as “human shields”.

Provocatively he warned: “I have a message for Hezbollah today.

“Israel knows what you’re doing.

“Israel known where you’re doing it, and Israel will not let you get away with it.”
